my v-day
Letterpress class was canceled so we went here to have breakfast. I ordered a warm breakfast tart.
then we stopped by Kinokuniya and saw this beautiful giant poster...have no clues about the artist but it looks like a kozyndan art to me.
updates:Tessar let me knows that those posters are done by PCP. Thanks a lot, Tessar!!
before getting on the freeway we stopped by ooga booga. such a little cute shop in China town.
immediately when we got home, I started to do some test printings on fabric with the blocks I carved.
I also craved a rubber block.
I have to say, it's easier to print with press than printing by hand. the press keeps very good consistency of ink. it's easier to print on paper than on fabric.. Rubber block is easier to print on fabric than linoleum block.....................................
I will try out more different kind of things later this weekend.......

tessar*,
thanks a lot!! :)
The breakfast just looks too good!!
I still haven't been to Joan's on 3rd! Looks sooo good...
That poster looks magical- I have to make a Kinokunyia trip soon.
Printing on fabric is a whole other ballgame. It can be frustrating- but I think the irregularities make hand printed fabric so beautiful.
Do you have Lena's book? Printing by Hand? It has some great projects and helpful hints. Beautiful photography of course.
Keep going!!
I'd love to still get together with you sometime...maybe we could meet for coffee/ tea at Cafe de Leche!
xo
PS: Do you plan to put your last prints in the shoppe? (The rabbit in the moon...)I'd love to add it to my collection :)
that breakfast looks sooooo good!

Breakfast looks scrumptious! We have some great restaurants here in Seattle, but I have to say looking at their site, I'm jealous! Also, good on you for taking the letterpress class. I tried to take one last summer but was a drop out! Learning letterpress is tough and time-consuming; it was summer and I just wanted to nap. Afterwards, my respect for the letterpress artists at my shop GreetQ grew 100 times. I'm sure you'll do much better than I did!
i love joan's... but i've never had that amazing looking thing in your photo! yum.
where are you learning letterpress?
looks great...you should play with cork and foam blocks too, they print nicely on fabric :)
Your breakfast looks delicious!
Love your creative experiments.
