Bread roller/ rolling pin

CL made a roller for me last weekend. We still have some leftover cedar lumbers in our back yard from making the deck. He knew that I've been looking for good roller for a while. He didn't let me to pick up one when we were in the Crate and Barrel. He said, that's not a good one in terms of shape and the weight. So he made me one. I really like the shape and it's much lighter than the ones I saw in the store.

We made Chinese dumpling skin by this roller! I have to agree with him this one is very easy to handle. I also like it's fine grain and the natural color. It looks so nice and it's a good tool.

I love the new bread roller!!

He also makes very good smoothie and pasta.
( sorry! scanner is still not working!)

Then, I made cinnamon bread for him and of course I used the new roller.

Have a nice weekend!

Oh lucky girl! I've been looking for the perfect-sized roller for ages. I want to make chinese dumpling skin. Your Polaroids look nice from the photographs, shame about the scanner...

yes, i have been passing up mediocre rollers for years in the hopes of finding one that is what a roller should be in terms of look, length, weight, width. it has not been an easy search. yours looks perfect.

ahh, you roll out the dumpling skins yourselves, old school style! my mom is a purist and always rolls out the skins. i love helping her make dumplings, especially rolling out the skins - i find it so therapeutic.

i love the gentle curve of your rolling pin. how lucky you both are!

Don't worry the polaroids looks nice in photos with a bit of checker in the background. And your wood crafting looks better and better post by post, looking forward to your next master piece :)

ahyi,

i'm from taiwan as well, and too have fond memories of my grandma rolling out potsticker skins. Homemade ones are infinitely better...

my boyfriend and i made scallion pancakes from scratch this past weekend and we had to use a wine bottle to roll out the dough! your roller would've come in extremely handy.

thank you for sharing your beautiful images.
