I made two pies for thanksgiving dinner. Pecan pie was good but I think I need to
work on apple pie recipe more....

The day after thanksgiving we went for a easy hike and went back to trail cafe.
Of course we ate more pies. Cranberry galette and ranger's pie were so good.

After went home, I used the extra pie dough to make another apple pie.
I can't help. I just want to make more pies...............

* next time i want to make this strawberry galette with basil cream.
* I used this pie crust recipe. Very easy to make and delicious.
* I like the aroma in my kitchen when I bake pie. Even my shirt smells good.
I like the smiling faces when friends saw the pies.

I suggest you try Barefoot Contessa piecrust and any and everything in her books!!
ReplyDeleteMmm... despite your saying that your apple pie needs more work, I think it looks absolutely delicious! And I'm totally with you about food connecting people.
ReplyDeleteyour pies look lovely! if you're not content with the apple one, i wonder if it's because it wasn't juicy enough. using a juicier variety of apple (or a different combination of apple varieties) might help.
