I carved two birds this weekend!! This is the first time I tried to carve on linoleum block.
I had a lot of fun!
Now I'm thinking maybe I should try to carve with wood block!!....I want this woodblock printing kit!!

how's your weekend??

Tomorrow is Chinese new year!! I made some turnip rice cakes for tonight. I knew I probably can find some decent ones in Chinese super market here, but I just missed so much the events/activities/traditions we would do in Taiwan. Specially those ridiculously loud firecrackers which we light on the Chinese new year's eve to get rid of the monster年獸(bad luck).

Happy Chinese new year !!

  7. the linocuts are amazing!! woodcuts are nice too but i find working with linoleum much easier you can get a lot of cool texture with linocuts although the grain of the wood is something that cannot be duplicated..cant wait to see the prints!

  9. Happy New Year! I love your lino cut blocks - you carve realy well. I have bought some lino/woodcutting tools but have not used them on wood yet. Would love to see the prints of your birds - how big are they?
